Accounting Specialist

Position Summary
We’re looking for an experienced accountant who enjoys working directly with clients to provide bookkeeping and accounting oversight. In this position, you will execute engagements that center on either QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks desktop accounting systems. Our team-based environment requires the ability to prioritize projects, collaborate with others, learn new technologies and interface with clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Record transactions, disbursements and credit card payments
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
Record monthly journal entries and adjusting entries from the tax return preparation.
Account for new asset purchases, asset disposals, and loan
Review payroll reports, payroll tax calculations and record journal entries
Prepare sales tax reporting for online processing
Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings and forms W-2/W-3
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and maintain accurate ledgers
Develop a strong working relationship with clients and firm Managers/Supervisors
Communicate with clients regularly via email, phone or on-site meetings
Provide education and training to clients as needed based on their requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (required), Excel, Word and Outlook
Two to three years’ prior experience performing accounting and bookkeeping services, preferably in a CPA firm
Associates degree or higher in Accounting or equivalent work experience
Must enjoy working directly with clients and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple clients efficiently and meet required due dates and deadlines
Must be professional, detail oriented and able to prioritize assigned tasks
Occasional travel to client locations as needed
